This is a great book I picked up in Hawaii. It is chock full of stories about Don the Beachcomber as well as some good food and drink recipes.
This is another good book from Beachbum Berry. Again it is full of Polynesian drink and food recipes.

This is a picture from an annual party I used to throw called the Lipman Luau. It was taken during the 2003 party or as we called it Lipman Luau III. When Caines has his fez on you know you are in for a good time.

I collect tiki mugs. The brown Pele mug from Disneyland is one of my favorites.
Last week I posted about zombies. This week I am bringing you the drink recipe. The thing with many drinks is that there is always more than one variation. The Zombie is no exception. Here is one variation with ingredients that are commonly available. Here is what you will need:
1 oz. Pineapple Juice
1 oz. Orange Juice
1 oz. Lime Juice (when working with juice use freshly squeezed when possible)
1/2 oz. Apricot Brandy
2 oz. Light Rum
1 oz. Dark Rum
1 Teaspoon of Powdered Sugar
Mix all of these ingredients in a shaker over ice. Give it a good shake. Pour it into your favorite tiki mug and float 1/2 oz. of Bacardi 151 Rum on the top. Garnish with an orange and pineapple slice. This is called a Zombie for a reason. You drink too many and you end up like the walking undead and in the morning your head feels like someone tried to eat your brains.
